Remember that time when you were a kid at school in science class? The teacher showed you a drop of water under the microscope and a whole new world opened up for you. There were squiggly things minding their own business, hurrying along and meeting other living things big and small. It was a whole microcosm in a tiny drop of water. In a way we, humans, are the same. Just on a different scale. We are floating on a pale blue dot made out of stardust in the infinite vastness of the universe. And there is someone out there looking at us through their own microscope. Who are we? Why are we here? What is the purpose and meaning of our existence?
Aquascopio is a playful exploration of these eternal questions. It is an art project, a collaboration of artistic swimmers, photographers and costume designers. The magical Balearic islands are our playground. The choreography is sometimes precise, and other times magically evocative of the swimmers' connection with nature. This, as well as the spectacular posidonia-filled waters and incredible rocky coast, are captured with a drone flying above the swimmers. The final outcome is video art and fine art photography which can be found on our website and our instagram.
We create an experience that matters for people who care.
